Brillenbären, auch Ucumari genannt, leben in den Anden und sind die einzigen Vertreter der Kurzschnauzen- bären. Sie leben überwiegend vegetarisch und halten sich häufig auf Bäumen auf.
Obwohl mittlerweile unter Schutz gestellt, ist die Art durch illegale Jagd und Vernichtung der Lebensräume gefährdet.

Mein Ucumari ist aufrecht 20 cm groß und hat eine Schulterhöhe von 10 cm. Er ist aus Alpaka. Für die auffällige Gesichtszeichnung habe ich verschiedene Techniken kombiniert.

The spectacled bear, Ucumari, is the only remaining representant of the short face bears and the only bear living in South America. The bear is mostly vegetarian and spends a lot of time klimbing in trees.

Allthough protected the spectacled bear belongs to the endangered species as his natural enviroment is destroyed more and more.

My Ucumari stands 8", shoulder height 4", and is made of alpaca. I made his individual face marks using different techniques like inserted faces, applicated spots and painting.
